The Advanced Password Rules feature allows the MD/MT Administrator or the Cobrand Administrator to determine the length of time the user is allowed to utilize their password, based on the customer’s internal password security policy.
Advanced Password Rules Set Up Guide
Rules can be setup at the MD and MT Administrative level or the Cobrand level. Please note, there is a distinct difference when setting up the rules, based on the type of login used.
MD and MT Administrative Level: When logged in as an MD or MT administrator, rules can be setup per designated MD and MT group accordingly. When the password expires, individual members of the MD and MT Group will be prompted to reset their password.
Cobrand level: When logged in as Cobrand administrator, rules will be setup across all MD groups or all MT Groups. When the password expires, individual MD and/or MT users within the Cobrand will be prompted to reset their password.
The password rules can be found at the group level, by clicking on membership. Choose either the MD group or the MT Group. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen.
Click on Membership, scroll down to bottom. Clicking Use Advanced Rules for this group, prompts the setting of the rules.
Days before password expires (0=unlimited): You can determine the length of time until password reset is invoked
Number of passwords remembered: This setting determines the number of previous passwords the user may select. Set at one, the expired password (“password1”) can’t be re-used. It is a more significant rule when the number is greater than one (1). If the number is three (3) for example, expired password (“password1”), the one before that (“password2”) and the one before that (“password3”) cannot be used. The system remembers 3 and forces the user to think of a new one (“password4”)
Password strength: Low, Medium, Strong, Very strong, each with a designated combination of number, letters and required characters
