The DS 3300 and 4000 can be used in hands-free mode with the purchase of the RS-25 foot pedal. For more information on pricing and specifications, contact customerservice@scribe.com.
The information below describes use of the foot pedal during dictation.
DS HANDS FREE OPERATION
To operate in hands free mode, move the slide switch to STOP position and place the recorder in the cradle. If the unit is not fully seated in the cradle, it will “beep.”
On the first dictation (recorder menu will say “New File”) tap the middle “listen” pedal on the foot pedal twice to begin recording; on subsequent dictations, simply hold down the “listen” pedal to record.
To Record – hold down the middle “listen” pedal (on the foot pedal), release the pedal to stop recording.
To Rewind – Hold REW (right) pedal down while stopped or playing a file
To Cue (next record) – Press FF (left) pedal while stopped or playing a file
To move to PREVIOUS file – tap REW (right) pedal when stopped at the end of the file
To EDIT a file - Rewind (see above), release the pedal (file will begin to play), then tap the Record pedal at the point you wish to edit (this will stop the recorder). Wait 2 seconds then resume recording (hold down the middle “listen” pedal on the foot pedal).
When you are finished recording and wish to upload file to Scribe:
Turn off your recorder until next use. Your files are now saved on your C drive.
