Runtime Error 70

Problem:

 

I get a pop-up message that says “Runtime error 70. Permission Denied” whenever I open a document.

 

Probable Cause:

 

This error is most often encountered during a faulty installation of Microsoft Office XP.  If you ignore the error, the document will still load. However, changes will not be saved, and the document may load as a blank page the next time it is opened.

 

Solution:

 

1.Insert the original Microsoft Office XP CD and run setup.exe.

 

If prompted for an option, select the “Remove” option.  (Do not select the “Repair” option.)

 

Restart Windows if prompted to do so.
Run setup.exe from the Office XP CD again and follow the instructions.

 

Resolution:

 

The document should now open correctly.
