Problem:

 

My system seems to be running slowly while on the Scribe web site. What can I do to speed things up?

 

Probable Cause:

 

An important thing to remember about using Scribe technology is that it is very dependent upon two things: 1) your broadband speed, and 2) the environment within your computer.

 

Solution:

 

The following remedies should improve your system speed:

 

Connection Speed

 

Go to the start menu and select: “Run”.
Type “cmd” and select: “OK”
Type tracert www.scribe.com and select: “Enter”.

 

If any of the values are greater than 50 milliseconds, contact your ISP about slow connectivity.

 

Go to www.dslreports.com and click on "Tools".

 

Select “speed” test.

 

Select one of the tests to run.

 

This will run the test. You should have at least 1 MB of throughput.

 

If there is not 1MB of throughput, contact your ISP.

 

3.        Environment

 

a.Frequently delete cookies and temporary internet files (including

 offline content).

b.        Open and minimize Word while transcribing.

c.Update and run thorough spyware, malware and virus scans daily.
d.Scan for and update all Windows and Microsoft Office/Word updates.

 

Resolution:

 

Your system should run more quickly while on the Scribe platform.
