Distribution Tab (Auto Distribution – Alt+4)

 

The Auto Distribution Feature allows the user to enter an e-mail address or fax number that the doctor would like the transcription to be sent to AFTER the MD approval process.  Emails should be entered as a comma separated list.  Multiple faxes should be entered as a comma separated list of 10-digit numbers/no dashes (xxxxxxxxxx).

 

To access the Address Book to enter e-mail address or fax, Alt+4 to the Distribution Tab. TAB to the text field, enter a Name (or other info – see drop down list) and click Enter to search for an existing address book contact. Click on the email address or fax number to add and enable it for Auto Distribution.

If the Contact link is selected, the Mail sub-tab will automatically open, with the address entered in the “TO” type field. You may change this to a CC address if needed, by selecting “CC” from the drop down menu.

 

You may also repeat the process to insert additional To and CC addresses. Click the Save icon in the main toolbar to save your entries (or use CTRL+S).

To insert a fax number or email address manually, Alt+4 to the Distribution Tab and then TAB and left arrow to select the Faxes sub-tab. TAB to the text box and type the fax number. Multiple faxes or emails should be entered as a comma separated list, with no spaces.

 

NOTE: In order to better comply with new HIPAA regulations, Scribe is developing a more secure form of MD Platform email known as Patient Exchange, whereby the recipient will be able to login to a secure site to receive the emailed document.

 

Until Patient Exchange is enabled in Scribe, a disclaimer regarding the use of email is in place on the MD platform, alerting the MD user to current HIPAA issues with the use of email.
