General Navigation Rules for the Sidebar Menus

Top  Previous  Next

Scribe has worked diligently to program as many navigational functions as possible with keystrokes. The more the user can use keystrokes to navigate, the more productive the user will be!

Alt+1 (or 2 – 8) allows the user to navigate quickly to the Main Tab of his or her choice (Patient, Templates, Macros, Distribution, Comment, Transcriptions, Labels and Feedback)

Once in the Main Tab the, TAB key navigates to the Sub-tab menu (if sub-tabs are available in the main tab). Once in the Sub-tab menu, the right and left ARROW keys will navigate through the sub-tabs.

To move down through the fields in the individual sub-tabs (such as Last Name, First Name, etc. in the Info Sub-tab of the Patient tab), again use TAB.

If you navigate into a drop down menu, the up and down ARROW keys will scroll through the menu.

Once you have made your choice, you may again use the TAB key to continue down into the rest of the menu if necessary.

The ENTER key works to click buttons.

Only links and check boxes (such as in the Feedback tab) must be mouse clicked to be selected. Alt+V will hide/show sidebar menu.
