Files Still Play Through Win Media Player

Top  Previous  Next

Problem

I’ve set Express Scribe as my default audio player as per the instructions I was given, but my files are still opening in Microsoft Windows Media Player.

Probable Cause

Occasionally, despite changing the default audio player to Express Scribe, Window Media Player will continue to work as the default audio player.

Solution

In this situation, it is important to check two things:

1.Make sure that the user’s version of Windows Media Player is version 10.0 or higher.
2.Launch Windows Media Player.

a.        Go into Tools> Options, then File Types.

1)        From there, uncheck the option to play .wma and .wav files.

2)Select> "Apply" and "Okay."

Resolution

Your audio files should no longer open through Windows Media Player by default.
